An on-the-road adventure behind the wheel of the Quattroporte, following routes "inspired by American history and literature", as the author Daniele Protti explains in the first pages of the book. The second book in the Quaderni Maserati collection tells about the distance travelled by Maserati's flagship, from San Francisco to Dawson City, just 250 Kilometres from the North Pole. A journey evoking the “Gold Rush” that rallied hundreds of thousands people and triggered epic adventures, in a land scattered with extreme difficulties which inspired unforgettable stories, like those written by Jack London. Nowadays, the roads of Alaska and Yukon are much more different if compared to those travelled by the “desperados” just before the 20th century. However, they have not been built with a Maserati Supersport in mind. But the Quattroporte, covered with dust and mud, comfortably faced never-ending roads where American buffalos were hanging out, as well as steep and stony tracks.
